About

David MacDonald has been a blacksmith for over forty years. As a 10 year old boy he gravitated toward working with metal in his parents' business. His interest in metalwork continued and in equestrian college he learned how to shape horse shoes with hammer and anvil.

Shortly after college David began to study with American and European masters. His training took him to England, France, Germany and Switzerland, as well as different locations around the United States. David received his master blacksmith diploma from a metalworkers' guild in northern France. Since then his work has taken him around the U.S. and to Europe.

David works in his historic adobe-walled shop about 20 miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
